Iggy can be stealth when he wants to, especially when he's hiding in a stack of carpets at Harvey Norman!
What- Iggy's wearing a 100% merino poncho.
How - 18° C | 64° F (inside temperature) at 3:50pm as we were looking for camera lenses at Harvey Norman.
And- Iggy's dream job, well one of them, is to be a ninja. What kind of formal training does one go through for that?
DAY 31 | JUNE 29. 2015
I'm a sports bra kinda girl. It's been like since I've had kids and just makes sense for my lifestyle and wardrobe. You won't find lacey thongs, padded bras or sexy negligees in my lingerie drawer. No sire, it's all about function!
What- I love the crossover detailing of this sports bra and want to love the style but feel like it's only about 90% there. That being said, I can see this would be cool underneath a draped armhole tee or see-through shirt when the weather warms up a bit.
How - 14° C | 57° F at 7:45am as I was getting running from the shower, to the laundry, to my bedroom.
And- I like Mons Royale, even if I can only afford to buy their stuff when it goes on sale!
DAY 30 | JUNE 28. 2015
Sundays are my favourite day of the week, I feel like it's the only day where I actually get anything done. Today I'm taking my trusty sidekick along while we grab groceries and baked goods.
What- It's not too cold this morning so a merino tee underneath a longsleeve merino top is perfect. Iggy loves this top, I think it must be the prints of the monsters?
How - 14° C | 57° F at 9:35am but it's raining so feels a bit cooler than it actually is.
And- No belt, no problem! Just grab a lipstick pink shoelace and you're good to go.
DAY 29 | JUNE 27. 2015
Buggy is having a sleepover at a friend's house so I'm heading to meet with a new friend and have our kids play together.
What- I love this reverse V neck 100% merino top by 360 Cashmere. I just wish it was warm enough where I didn't have to bundle up with a vest over top.
How - 13° C | 55° F at 9:05am as we were walking out the door and trying to map our exactly where we're going.
And- There's not much right about the photo, I think it's fair to say that Iggy's photo taking skills need to be sharpened up a bit. What I do love is Stevie looking up at me not knowing what the hell is going on!
DAY 28 | JUNE 26. 2015
Just when you think you baby is getting big, you see a photo of her little hands and you're reminded that she's still a small.
What- Who needs a manicure when you can fashion a ring from a wood shaving? And don't forget about the bubble gum pink merino longsleeve top!
How - 11° C | 51° F at 8:40am after we had walked Iggy into school and we were heading back to the car.
And- If I could freeze this moment in time forever, I would.
DAY 27 | JUNE 25. 2015
The photo's not doing the situation justice, but this morning it is COLD! So cold in fact that there was a hefty frost on the ground and on the windscreens of the car. Brrrr!
What- This morning Buggy is wearing a couple of merino pieces: 1) her favorite clouds skirt and 2) a pair of merino jogger pants in a cool shade of twizzler.
How - 5° C | 41° F at 8:50am as we were dropping Buggy off to daycare.
And- This kid! I can't get enough of her cheeky smile and crazy unkempt hair.
DAY 26 | JUNE 24. 2015
As far as a 4 year old taking a photo, this is a pretty good effort. I'm not sure how she did it, but she was even able to add a nice filter to the photo too. Nice work, Buggy!
What- This morning I'm layering up with an AS Colour merino tee and a pair of limb sleeves underneath my sweater.
How - 11° C | 51° F at 8:10am Just before I dragged the vacuum through the house, before running out the door to school drop off.
And- I'm not kidding when I say I wear a pair of these sleeves everyday during winter, I just love them so much!
DAY 25 | JUNE 23. 2015
Hello Miss Pink! This is a classic Buggy dressed herself outfit; different colours, patterns and lengths all thrown together. And don't forget about the gumboots!
What- We're not claiming a head-to-toe merino outfit today, just Buggy's skirt and longsleeve are 100% merino. But we'll take it!
How - 9° C | 48° F at 8:15am as we were about to brush teeth for school.
And- Would you believe those gumboots light up? Because little girls needs neon flashing lights as they're jumping in puddles and playing in the rain!
DAY 24 | JUNE 22. 2015
This morning has been the coldest so far, hands down. But you know what? It's beautiful, clear and the sun is shining. What more could we ask for?
What- We don't tell the kids what to wear anymore, they're past that, but this morning was a little different because it was so cold. The only direction we gave was to wear some merino, or as Buggy calls it, "nerino". And that's exactly what she did! The leggings, hoodie and skirt are all made from 100% merino. Nice listening, Buggy!
How - 6° C | 42° F at 8:45am on the way back to the car after dropping off Iggy.
And- The pulled up pant leg is Buggy's thing. She does it with all of her pants, even when it's freezing cold!
DAY 22 | JUNE 20. 2015
I wake up early every day. I love it. It's my thing. I walk the dogs around 5:45. They love it. I was not loving the FREEZING temp this morning though, thank God I have a few layers of merino to wrap up in!
What- 2 x under layers + one pair of 100% merino sleeves by limb.
How - 4° C | 39° F at 5:45am as I shut the backdoor and ventured out with the dogs.
And- Do you think the Griffons would like a merino jacket to wear on these frigid mornings?
DAY 21 | JUNE 19. 2015
Today we went to the library, and what did we stumble upon? A flock of handpainted humungous sheep. What a surprise!
What- Buggy's dressed head-to-toe in 100% merino today, all by Little Flock of Horrors. She loves this top so much that we have two in constant rotation!
How - 14° C | 57° F at 4:15pm after kids had been picked up and we ventured to return our library books.
And- It's winter but she still insists on wearing strappy sandals. Hmmmmmm.
DAY 20 | JUNE 18. 2015
Even though he wears a uniform during the day, one of the first things I try to get Iggy to do after school is change into home clothes. Although the day hasn't been as bitterly cold as yesterday, the short days mean that it colds pretty chilly, pretty fast. Hello merino!
What- Every single item of clothing Iggy is wearing is made from 100% merino; the pants, the long sleeve, the poncho. This poncho has got to be one of my favorite Iggy merino pieces, It's made by Little Flock of Horrors and Iggy loves it because it makes him feel like a ninja!
How - 13° C | 55° F at 4:15pm after kids had been picked up and Iggy was getting ready to go outside for a play before dinner,
And- The highlighter green is bold, yes, but I love it! I wish I could pull of this look.
DAY 19 | JUNE 17. 2015
Last night was a cold one, just 3° C | 37 F when I was up and about at 5am, so we've all been reaching for our merino this morning.
What- The track jacket is clearly not made of merino, that's for sure, but Buggy's leggings and skirt are both made from 100% merino by Little Flock of Horrors.
How - 8° C | 47° F at 7:45am after everyone had devoured brekkie and were putting on clothes for the day.
And- I'm not quite sure where Buggy learnt the "extend one foot while Mum takes a photo" move?!
DAY 18 | JUNE 16. 2015
Buggy is bold and adventurous with her fashion, and I totally love her for that. It takes a brave preschooler to pair an acid washed denim skirt with a daisy headband!
How - 7° C | 44° F at 8:30am as we were hustling to get out the door and to school before the first bell at Iggy's school rings at 8:50am.
And- Buggy loves the zig zags on these two pieces. She'll reach for them every time she sees them in her dresser.
DAY 17 | JUNE 15. 2015
Monday Schmonday. Buggy loves dressing herself for school and I thought this outfit was a put together nicely. She's a pink girl through-and-through but runs with the boys so needs to have functional AND fashionable threads for daycare.
How - 13° C | 55° F It's not east coast cold, sure, but with the dampness these temps chill to the bone and feel much colder than the actual temp.
And- The best thing about these pants is that they have a dropcrotch so look great by themselves or underneath a skirt, like this one.
DAY 16 | JUNE 14. 2015
Weekends with a school aged kid are a whole new world for me. Why? Because he's not in his uniform and gets to wear whatever he wants. And by the way, I'm still trying to figure out what the deal is with the hat.
How - 12° C | 54° F It was a yucky, rainy and windy morning so it makes perfect sense that my almost 6 year old wants to wear shorts to the cafe, right? At least he has a jumper on!
And- Words of advice when cafe'ing with kids. Even if you're tempted to try, the Paleo cafe is not a good idea for a family brunch. No amount of convincing will have your 6 year old believing that avocado chocolate cheescake is "real" cheesecake.
DAY 15 | JUNE 13. 2015
DISCLAIMER - This body is not mine, but the undies are. I figured I would spare you all from seeing me in all of my glory. It just didn't feel appropriate
What- Mons Royale bikini briefs, purchased on OnceIt for $29.95NZD, with an RRP of $29.95. This is my first pair of merino undies and I have to say I love them! The fabric is (obviously) far superior, the only gripe I would have is that they're a bit too big (size S). I really really like the thick elastic, that's perhaps my favourite feature of these undies.
How - 9° C | 48° F at 8:05am after the Monday morning shower had been taken.
And- I'm a convert, why haven't I had a pair of merino undies before now?
DAY 14 | JUNE 12. 2015
Sausage rolls are about as Kiwi as apple pie is American. And if you've never had one, you're missing out because they're awesome. Who wouldn't appreciate a sausage wrapped in pastry. I mean, come on.
What-Little Flock of Horrors slider tee, again. And we haven't even washed it since Iggy wore it a couple of days back. Because merino just doesn't need to be washed as often as other fabrics. It's awesome like that.
How - 12° C | 54° F at 11:30am at our local bakery as we were having a sneaky lunch after grocery shopping.
And- That black nail polish is awesome, right?
DAY 13 | JUNE 11. 2015
Hey good looking, whatcha got cookin? We bought some new bamboo enviro friendly dinner plates today so Buggy's giving them a trial run. By the way, I love housewares shopping!
What- Merino is not claiming the top, and that's a good thing, but the leggings are 100% Little Flock of Horrors and they get a lot of wear in our house. The colour may not seem overly girly but it surprisingly works with about 95% of Buggy's wardrobe.
How - 8° C | 46° F at 5:30pm, just as I was slipping out of my day clothes and into my sweats I was welcomed with this "dinner".
And- We're a little late to this whole leggings thing, Buggy didn't really wear them much as a toddler but I'm loving the versatility they offer. Nothing like throwing on a pair with a top and instantly jazzing up her outfit.
DAY 12 | JUNE 10. 2015
Don't ask me what he has on his head, all I know is that it came back from school and it has maori symbols on it! I'll have to ask and report back :)
What- We have a few of these Little Flock of Horrors slider tees on rotation. The fit is great, the colours are trendy and the fabric is super soft and snuggly! I love the striped arms on this one, you don't see yellow stripes in kids fashion very often.
How - 16° C | 61° F at 3:45pm after kids had been picked up from school and were powering through the first of many snacks.
And- Iggy ALWAYS wipes his hands on his clothes, it drives me nuts. Is it a boy thing? Who knows, but I do know that I can just wipe off the food shrapnel from this top and it doesn't stick. Yeah merino!
DAY 11 | JUNE 9. 2015
What she lacks in colour/pattern coordination, she makes up in spades with an adventurous sense of mixing tulle with merino and track jackets. I ♡ Buggy's bold sense of style, it makes me smile!
What- Leggings are a must during winter here. Buggy will often reach for these ones and I don't blame her: the black colour block and knee patches are pretty chic!
How - 12° C | 53° F at 8:15am while I was blow drying my hair and running around trying to get ready for school drop off.
And- You can't see it, but she's wearing a merino tee under that awesome track jacket.
DAY 10 | JUNE 8. 2015
There's no denying that New Zealand winter days are cold and damp, and the older I get, the more I feel it in my feet. Jeez, I sound like a 55 year old woman complaining about bad circulation!
What- These 100% merino socks are made by LifeSocks. I have three pairs and have them on constant rotation during winter.
How - 8° C | 46° F at 8:25am after I had had my shower and gotten dressed fro school pick up.
And- These socks have padding in different places throughout the foot that looks bulky (especially in the first photo) but actually wears OK (as seen in the second photo).
DAY 9 | JUNE 7. 2015
My son is just one of those kids who wears shorts and tshirts during winter time, he always will be. But at least with a merino top on I know he'll stay nice and warm.
What- Iggy's wearing a shortsleeve Little Flock of Horrors tee. I like this tshirt a lot: the superhero printed monster is cool and the contrast binding at the neck adds some interest.
How - 14° C | 57° F at 11:40am by the time we had gotten our Sunday started and Iggy's photo taken.
And- This tee is at least a year old and has been washed countless times but still looks brand new. It's awesome!
DAY 8 | JUNE 6.2015
Saturday mornings are for swimming lessons, merino dresses, and sometimes Chuppa Chups.
What- Buggy's dressed head-to-toe in Little Flock of Horrors today. The leggings have a super cool black contrast patch at the knees, her dress has a couple of poofy ruffles and is accented with striped arms.
How - 10° C | 50° F at 9:10am after we had jumped out of the pool, showered and gotten dressed.
And- This dress is a 10/10 for me: the frills aren't over the top and the striped arms are on-trend for New Zealand.
DAY 7 | JUNE 5. 2015
Call the Fashion Police, this preschooler has committed a serious crime of pattern!
What- Buggy loves this Little Flock of Horrors skirt. The waistband is nice and thick and looks great over top of leggings or worn by itself.
How - 9° C | 48° F at 8:15am after I had specially straightened her hair and put on some lipstick.
And- If you look closely enough you'll see the homemade choc chippie biscuit she dropped!
DAY 6 | JUNE 4. 2015
We are (a merino) family!
What- 100% longsleeve merino slider tee (tshirt with sleeves attached)
How - 12 C | 54° F at 3:45pm after kids have eaten their after school snack and about to cause some mayhem while we're still trying to work.
And- The benefits of working from home, mainly the ability to enjoy a wind down beverage around 5pm, greatly outweigh the negatives. Trust me!
DAY 5 | JUNE 3. 2015
Don't quit your day job for a career in modeling, Fran!
What- The 100% merino longsleeve top I picked up from Countdown supermarket yesterday.
How - 10° C | 50° F at 8:15am as we're running around trying to get kids ready and out the door for school.
And- It seems to pass the no-itch test but is definitely a base layer, not a wear-it-by-itself top.
DAY 4. JUNE 2. 2015
'Ello 'ello, 'ello. What 'ave we go here, then?
What- 100% merino longsleeve top from Countdown Supermarket. Yes, they were selling merino and milk at the same store. Weird
How - 9° C | 48° F at 4:15pm after I've arrived back picking up milk (and merino) at the supermarket
And- I'm skeptical about this, can you really buy a 100% merino top from the supermarket that won't be itchy ? Hmmmmmmm
DAY 3 | JUNE 3. 2015
Why the long face, Iggy?
What- A 100% merino longsleeve top
How - 7° C | 45° F at 5:30pm after I've asked Iggy if I can take a photo of him and he's said NO!
